About

Where it all began...

After moving to Echunga in 2018 to settle into our new family life. A 1 acre plot and alot of dreaming possibilities..

Nothing quite like a COVID Pandemic to bring you back to what's important. For me it has always been a love for the Australian Country Community Culture. Knowing your neighbours, helping where you can, and being supported when you need.

Echunga has delivered this for me in spades!

Whether its standing at the end of a driveway with your neighbours on ANZAC Day dawn to remember the fallen or having a chin wag around a firepit. The rush to support when fires were threatening and a help-out offered across the place for anyone who needed it. This is what I've truly come to love about living in Echunga.

For such a small number, there seems an endless life of community.

During the isolation of COVID, Bees became a sanctuary for me. Not so much for the beloved Bouncer, especially with his wet dog smell from swimming in the dam! There is something to be said for standing in the presence of a living hive community that has been existing longer than science can probably even calculate. We think we are keepers of the bees. And I'm sure the bees would have a small giggle at our thinking that we have anything to do with their thriving.

They grace us in allowing us to be near them, and bless us with their hospitality of produce. Nothing but gratitude is felt when harvesting from their home and plenty is always left for them.

At the passing of the Bee Keeper, someone needs to tell the bees. Only a true bee keeper can know the truth in the importance of it.

Honey has been my way of passing forward the gratitude of community. What I've taken from bees has been so important to share. There are times it's given away, times an exchange for lemons, peaches or herbs, but always most certainly the exchange of a smile..

It is my blessing, that you may get to enjoy some honey. Whether it be Echunga Honey or your local beekeeper, it is a gift from nature we hope to pass on..

Any ideas for the next infusion!
